WI News
Frenchay WI are pleased to announce that we are re-starting our meetings on Monday 20 September in the Village Hall at 7.30 pm.
Anyone interested in joining Frenchay WI is invited to come along to any of our meetings – on the third Monday of the month. At the moment, there is no waiting list so new members would be very welcome. Please don’t be afraid to come alone – there is always a friendly reception awaiting new members. There are no strangers in our group – only friends you have yet to meet.
In addition to the hand sanitiser provided by the Village Hall, we shall be putting some of our own ‘safety’ measures in place to make our members feel more comfortable.
The wearing of masks will not be mandatory unless the speaker requests this, although members are welcome to wear one if it makes them feel more comfortable.
Tea and coffee will be available in the break, but, for now, we are asking members to bring their own cup/mug. We will also provide wrapped, individual packets of biscuits instead of the usual delicious homemade cakes supplied by our ’tea ladies.’
Chairs will be set out fairly normally, but members are welcome to move their chair.
Our speaker secretary has arranged for Jo Richardson of Space Detectives to speak to us at the September meeting. Her talk will be about human space exploration; the skills an astronaut needs and the future of space industry.
We are really looking forward to seeing members – new and old – after such a long time away.
