Village Hall Update

Frenchay Village Hall

The Village Hall Committee would like to say a huge ‘Thank you’ to members of New Life Church Bristol (NLC) who spent the Sunday of the May Day Bank Holiday weekend doing some much needed jobs both inside and outside the Village Hall.

NLC’s main project was to create raised flower borders around the car park as a safety barrier. This is especially important as the Hall is used regularly for pre-school and nursery groups. The flower borders were created out of sleepers and planted with a wide variety of easy to maintain shrubs and flowers.

NLC also installed a new post and rail fence behind the vegetable garden to protect visitors from the barbed wire which now surrounds the field. Other areas were weeded and barked, new low energy LED security lights were fitted along one side of the Hall and the gutters were cleaned and brushed.

Inside, the church carried out a spring clean of the kitchen including emptying out and cleaning all the cupboards and the fridge and the hall now looks smart and fresh ready for the start of the summer. We are very grateful to all of those who worked so hard on this project which was part of NLC’s ongoing “Love Your Neighbourhood” initiative.
