Ladybird Class in the Wood

Our children in Frenchay Primary’s Ladybird Class have been making good use of their amazing new classroom…

We particularly enjoy the home corner and the outside area! The canopy has been very useful with all the recent rain we have had! We are looking forward to having even more things added to our outside area in the new year.

Our term started off with a bang! We were learning all about different celebrations, including Bonfire Night and Diwali. We make Diwa lamps and learnt about the story of Rama and Sita. We even drew our own henna patterns. In our outdoor learning lessons, we have been learning about the different seasons. We have learnt about Autumn and have begun learning about winter as the weather begins to get colder and frostier! We love going into the woods to explore! We have also been learning about nocturnal animals and how some animals hibernate for the winter.

In our Literacy lessons we have been learning the story of Supertato. We have been learning to retell the story and have been writing lists of the characters in the story. We have recently been reading The Gingerbread Man, as we watched a video of some cheeky gingerbread men running away in our classroom!
